Flow Traders is looking for a Research Analyst to join our growing Digital Assets team in Amsterdam. We’re seeking a highly motivated and organized individual with a strong passion for the digital asset ecosystem - from DeFi and infrastructure to emerging blockchain trends. This is a unique opportunity to join a leading proprietary trading firm with an entrepreneurial and innovative culture at the heart of its business. We value quick-witted, creative minds and challenge them to make full use of their capacities.

What You Will Do

  • Conduct deep-dive research into DeFi protocols, new key trends in the market with a particular focus on infrastructure projects (L1s/L2s, staking platforms, bridges, middleware), and validator economics
  • Identify early-stage trends and alpha-generating opportunities across public and private markets
  • Collaborate closely with traders to flag market inefficiencies, arbitrage setups, and potential partnerships
  • Support the validator business with research on staking economics, slashing risks, delegation flows, and protocol incentives
  • Identify and present strategic venture capital investment opportunities emerging
  • Build and maintain dashboards using on-chain and off-chain data (e.g., Dune, Nansen, Token Terminal)
  • Work with BD to translate insights into actionable strategies, decks, and partner materials
  • Contribute to external-facing content, including market commentary, protocol breakdowns, and quarterly ecosystem outlooks
  • Monitor regulatory, macro, and technological developments impacting the digital asset landscape

What You Need to Succeed

  • 2–4 years of experience in crypto research, investment analysis, or a trading firm
  • Deep familiarity with DeFi mechanics, tokenomics, and L1/L2 infrastructure
  • Hands-on experience with on-chain data tools (e.g., Dune, Nansen) and basic data analysis (e.g., SQL, Python)
  • Strong written communication skills and the ability to distill complex technical topics
  • Understanding of smart contract architecture (no need to audit, but can analyze mechanisms)
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally between trading and BD & Venture team.
